A Passion for Service Sparks a Company

Eight years ago, founder Chad Stalbaum defied industry advice that exceptional service and an amazing team weren’t priorities. Chad shares:

“Funny story—an old boss once told me that focusing on exceptional service and building an amazing team was a bad idea. Well, I didn’t buy it. So, I went out and did exactly that.”

With decades of hospitality experience, from the back of house to executive leadership, he set out to build a company that put people, trust, and service first. Method started as a small operation with a big vision: to create seamless, joyful events while treating clients, guests, and team members with the same respect and care.

The Early Hustle

Like most new ventures, Method’s early days were all hustle.

“Honestly, at the start, everything was a challenge! From cash flow headaches to hunting down clients and finding rockstar team members, it felt like a full-time juggling act.”

Through that hustle came valuable lessons and resilience. As Chad reflects:

“Sometimes, the toughest beginnings make the strongest foundations.”

From intimate backyard parties to small corporate functions, each event became an opportunity to prove the company’s commitment and build a reputation that would open doors to bigger stages.

The Core Values That Guide Every Event

Trust and transparency form the backbone of Method’s client relationships. Our team believes in setting clear expectations from day one and addressing potential issues long before they can affect an event. This proactive approach not only builds stronger relationships, it also ensures smoother execution on event day.

Internally, Method’s culture thrives on collaboration and mutual respect. Chad works alongside the crew, actively training and developing team members, learning their strengths and areas for growth, and ensuring that everyone upholds the high standards Method is known for, while reinforcing that no job is beneath anyone.

“No job is too small, and that creates stronger teams, better service, and unforgettable events. We lead with empathy, work ethic, and a hands-on attitude—that all started from day one, in the dish room.”

From Local Events to the Big Stage

A defining milestone for Method came in 2017 when the team collaborated with The Estate of Michael Jackson and Sony Music’s “Michael Jackson Scream Halloween Takeover,” coinciding with the release of the “Scream” compilation album at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. The energy that night was electric! With over 1,000 guests and DJ Steve Aoki headlining, it was a high-profile, high-pressure event that showcased Method’s ability to pull off large-scale productions flawlessly.

Moments like this established the company as a trusted choice not only for weddings and corporate gatherings but also for major, nationally recognized events.

Resilience in the Face of Challenges

The road hasn’t been without its challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic shut down live events and the company for nearly two years, creating uncertainty and financial strain. For many in the industry, it was a make-or-break moment.

Method not only survived, but emerged stronger. That period reinforced the company’s resilience and the importance of staying adaptable while holding onto core values like service, trust, and teamwork.

The Invisible Magic of a Well-Run Event

Most attendees never see the hard work happening behind the scenes. Those quick decisions and logistical pivots that keep everything running smoothly.

“Every event has its challenges… but most of the time, our clients never even know about them. That’s exactly why having a trusted team behind the scenes is so important.”

That’s exactly where Method shines. Quietly making adjustments and problem-solving so the hosts and guests simply experience a flawless, joyful event.

Hospitality at the Heart of the Culture

Chad’s early career journey, from washing dishes in a Radisson hotel in Indiana to serving tables and finally moving into managing high-end restaurants, deeply shaped Method’s culture. That experience fosters empathy for every role on the team and fuels a leadership style rooted in shared responsibility.

The hospitality-first mindset also extends to clients, ensuring they always feel supported and cared for throughout the planning process.

Making Planning Simple for Clients

For many, event planning can feel overwhelming. Method approaches it with thorough preparation: multiple planning meetings, clear timelines, and anticipating potential challenges before they arise. The goal is to ensure clients feel confident and can truly enjoy their event while the team manages the details.

Looking Ahead: Growth and New Offerings

The future is looking bright. Method recently partnered with Liquid Catering, bringing over 35 years of bar service expertise to their portfolio of services. Method is also expanding into Orange County, extending our reach to more clients in Southern California.

As the events industry evolves, especially with social media raising expectations for creativity and visual impact, Method plans to continue innovating while staying grounded in the timeless principles of hospitality and trust.

Advice for Aspiring Event Entrepreneurs

For those starting out, Chad’s advice is direct: be prepared for long hours, unpredictable challenges, and plenty of problem-solving. The payoff, though, is extraordinary – bringing something to life that once only existed in someone’s imagination.

What Method Means Today

Eight years in, Method is more than just an event company, it’s the result of persistence, vision, and heart. Over time, the name Method has come to carry the weight of every success, every challenge, and every choice to keep moving forward.

What “Method” represents runs far deeper than a company name or a place of work, it reflects the entire journey of its creation, the obstacles overcome, and the resilience that’s carried it through. Method Event Productions was co-founded by two dedicated partners who poured enormous time, energy, and passion into building its foundation.

When one of them made the difficult decision to leave both the business and Los Angeles during the pandemic, it was a turning point that could have marked the end. In the midst of global uncertainty, the future felt unclear. But with encouragement to keep pushing forward rather than walk away, Method’s remaining leader, Chad Stalbaum, chose to double down and fight for what had been built.

That decision shaped the company into what it is today. A thriving, eight-year-strong event production business that stands as a testament to perseverance, growth, and unwavering commitment. More than a business, Method is a story of resilience—one that continues to fuel its drive every single day.

“Method is more than a business. It’s my story. My growth. My resilience. And it drives me every single day.”
